Hey there!
I am in deep need of original and high-quality tracks and loops for my various projects that are about to be published. I've already spent too much time browsing the audio portal. I mostly end up listening to tracks that do not fit my games or that have been used in 233 2459 submissions.
So I thought of doing things the other way around: calling composers and audio artists that are interested in joining forces :)
In the pipeline:
- Agent Scarecrow 2 and 3:
I need tracks/loops in the drum'n bass genre for various cutscenes and narration scenes
I need jazz- or classical-inspired songs for Peter's part of the story
I need songs that sounds like The Prodigy for fight scenes
I need high-paced, crazy electronic house tracks for a wild dance club location
I'd like to find a "villain" theme (would be playing in the background everytime we encounter the villain)
Please see screenshot below and Agent Scarecrow 1 for a rough idea: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/

- Sim game:
I need various tracks playing in the background of various locations.
I find this one particularly challenging cuz I don't know if what directions to go.
My idea would be to have multiple versions of the same loop OR to have multiple overlaying tracks if we can separate the instruments: smooth for the menu/home location, with more beats for the club/pub location, very sweet with flute or something for the park, sounding very crappy for the mall (like old speakers or something)... you get the idea? That way, the music would change (but only slightly) depending on the location but while keeping a general feeling of homogeneity.
- Comedy/Horror game:
I need various tracks that would fit a point-and-click game in which the player investigates an old haunted manor. So I need smooth but suspenseful tracks, horror tracks, uplifting tracks to be used in non-dangerous locations to make contrast.
The way I work is usually the following: submit any track that you think is of interest.
Then, I send screenshots and put scenes online to help you tweak the track if tweaking is necessary.
I see this as a total collaborative efforts i.e. you have your word to say and can get involved as much as you'd like in the creation process of the game.
PLEASE, send emails to johnnyb (at) johnnybdesign.com
wow, that's already a long post. Thanks to all for paying attention!
I am sincerely looking forward to collaborating with you.
